Quotable Friday {7} – Popularity Contest

QF

As Monday’s post mentioned, my April Lost or Forgotten book is Rosebush by Michele Jaffe.  So far I’m liking this a lot more than Out of the Blue by Isabel Wolff, which is a huge relief because otherwise my idea to get through my forgotten books this year might have been, well, forgotten.  There’s a major underlying theme of the importance of high school popularity in this book, and I think this quote captures that idea.

“”So let me see – you’ve got a boyfriend, a not boyfriend, and a secret admirer.”

He shook his head at me.

“Girl, no wonder someone tried to run you down.””

– Michele Jaffe, Rosebush
